Joining the IO-Link Community

Important Information

1. Requirement: PI Membership

Membership in PI (PROFIBUS & PROFINET International) is a mandatory prerequisite for participation in the IO-Link Community.
Please first check whether your company is already a member of a regional PI organization: https://www.profibus.com/pi-organization/members 

  • If You Are Already a PI Member
    If your company is already a PI member, joining the IO-Link Community is only a formal process.
    There are no additional fees for participating in the IO-Link Community. 
    Please proceed to step 2
     
  • If You Are Not Yet a PI Member
    If your company is not yet a PI member, you must first complete the PI membership process.

    Once you have successfully completed the PI membership process, please proceed to step 2

2. Complete Membership Form - Agree Community Rules

To join the IO-Link Community, a written confirmation of acceptance of the IO-Link Community rules is required.
The rules are available in the download section and in the provided starter package.

To apply for membership

Download the starter package, complete and sign the documents included.

Please send the following required files to info@io-link.com:

  1. Completed form “Membership Form”
     
  2. Confirmation of the IO-Link Rules (see the bottom of the "Membership Form") 
    The IO-Link Rules contain the organisational structure (A.4) of the IO-Link company community and a listing of the working groups in Committee C IO-Link.
     
  3. Your company logo as an eps file with transparent background

Bring Your Products to Market!

You can purchase a license to market individual products without joining the community. For further information, contact our Support Center at info(at)io-link(dot)com.

IO-Link inside for Distributors

The “IO-Link inside” logo may be used by distributors and other companies that are not members of the IO-Link Community or PI, but wish to promote products incorporating compliant IO-Link technology.

Use of the “IO-Link inside” logo is limited to products, machines, or components containing IO-Link devices compliant with the official IO-Link specification. The logo may not be modified and must always be used in its original form.

Unlike the official IO-Link Member logo, use of the “IO-Link inside” logo does not indicate membership in the IO-Link Community or include any membership rights or benefits. Companies seeking active participation, member services, and official affiliation with the IO-Link Community are encouraged to become members.
